mollie ♥ matt

She gathered herself together, panicking for just a short moment after realizing she’d left the crinoline in a bag at the hotel. Applying the sparkle puff shimmer to her decolettage and slipping on the raddest shoes I’ve ever seen, she breathed through the letter he wrote and blinked back the tears.

“His was so much better than mine.”

He sat in a childs chair, tediously wrapping her special gift. It was small. It was covered in an inside joke. It was perfect. Swallowing in big “I’m okay” gulps, he read the letter she wrote.

“Hers was so much better than mine.”

There was no doubt – they were meant to do this together forever. And so they did.

Mollie and Matt, the two of you engaged Kristen and I in a wedding that moved us to tears and belly laughs. Thank you so much for sharing such an awesome day. We wish you the most amazing new journey the two of you could ever embark on!!

These shoes were INSANE. Made by Shoe Lady, they are known as the “non-wedding wedding shoe.”

Kristen’s great shot of these puppies.

This was the special gift before it was wrapped, and Kristen’s view.

The comic strip was an inside joke I still don’t know about. Either way…this is adorable!!

Kristen’s great view of the dancing flower girls.

The plan was for Mollie and Matt to see each other before the wedding. All was good until Matt changed his mind riiiight about when this photo was taken. 🙂

Kristen’s great view of Mollie and Matt’s marital bliss.

Matt’s so slick. He expresses his love for Mollie clear down to his sole. Get it?! His SOLE?!

I loved the Fall-inspired centerpieces they created. The way it looked before and after dusk was just gorgeous.

A sweet sentiment on the bride’s bouquet.

Kristen’s view of the family memory table. This is such a fantastic way to remember loved ones and share childhood memories with family and guests.

The smartest way I’ve seen to protect a wedding dress. *jenifriend takes note*

Kristen’s view of one of our favorite couples of the night. Weddings tend to bring out the love in people, and this couple provided no exception.

Oh did I mention that Kristen captures the GREATEST MOMENTS EVER?!

I found love somewhere!! 🙂

This is exactly how a reception should be…these moments made this night amazing.

Ring shots!!

My favorite photo of Mollie. Classically vintage and radiating with beauty.

I do my best to post really good teasers. The kind of photos that reallllly tease. The kind of photo that…well…doesn’t really show a whole lot.  🙂

christy ♥ jason

For days leading up to this beautiful October day, it was rainy.  And cold.  Yet, by the grace of God, the clouds parted for Christy and Jason’s wedding so they could enjoy an outdoor wedding as they dreamed of having.

So relaxed, she helped with the finishing touches of the reception hall decorations.  He hustled and bustled around, a tad concerned about the black smudge he got on the side of his button-down.  All those finishing touches and hustles and bustles stopped when she stepped out into the room in her wedding gown.  Everything slowed down, and the rest of the night I watched as their embraces were enveloped with smiles and love that oozed from the depths of their hearts.

Christy and Jason, congratulations on such a monumental day as your wedding day.  As your closest family and friends repeated throughout the night…it’s about time! 🙂 I am honored to have captured all of your smiles and tears and joy and love and wish you nothing but those amazing emotions in abundance for the rest of your lives together.

I loved how there will little smidgens of love throughout the entire day…this just goes to show you can find love anywhere! 🙂

Jason didn’t speak for a moment when he saw Christy in her dress…he just stared at her. No speaking…just staring. *sigh*

Nothing beats a rousing a game of basketball before the big event.

Married life is heavenly bliss…and sun flare in your photo makes it 1000x better!

WORK IT Christy!!

Well helloooo there handsome. 🙂

Note to self: big bling on a cake is wickedbad.

There are moments when someone else’s flash helps out a photo…this is one of those moments.

Wait…is that Kanye? Yeah…he dropped in to let everyone know that Beyonce’s wedding was the best wedding EVER!

My favorite picture of Christy from the day…she’s so smitten and I can’t help but adore it (and slightly envy it).

kami ♥ j.r.

Kami was in a pickle.  Her original photographer didn’t pan out as intended, and she was stuck less than a month before the wedding frantically searching for someone to document their day.  It must have been frustrating, and definitely part of the wedding planning process I hope never to experience!

It’s a rare occasion when you are able to take pictures of  a wedding and, while doing so, kick your shoes off and relax.  Yet that is exactly how this wedding was.  Surrounded by the closest of friends and family, Kami hid upstairs in her mothers bedroom, primping and prodding herself to perfection.  Just two floors below, J.R. was laughing amongst his closest of friends, dressing in a pristine ivory tux.  Kami was solemn and docile.  J.R. a jittery body of smiles.  Both completely ready for what lay ahead.

Kami and J.R., congratulations on entering into such an incredible life adventure with each other!  The moments I shared with you on your special day were brilliant, heartfelt and genuine…everything a wedding should be.  I hope your move down to Texas was a safe one, and I wish you two nothing but millions more memories filled with loads of love!!

The handsome groom readying himself.

A quiet moment for the bride…

This was not planned that both would end up doing this.  🙂

By a raise of hands, how many of us would like to see this response as we’re walking down the aisle?!  You’re a good man, J.R.!

I just love this picture…very familial and very celebratory…

Dancing in the moonlight.

Happy 4th of July!!

And now…the wedding details that I find to always be so ingenious.  Each wedding is different and very unique to the couple, which I love!

This is the necklace Kami wears in remembrance of her father…so tender and sweet.

RING SHOTS!!

paige ♥ fred

I entered just as her Maid of Honor was putting the finishing touches on her makeup.  It was just the three of us…for about five seconds.  In leaps and bounds arrived her sisters, each of them on the verge of tears as they observed her.  Calm and graceful was Paige, despite the hustling wedding madness going on around her.  In an eagerness to be at the end of the wedding aisle, she grinned and asked, “Can you tell Fred that I said ‘I do’ and I’ll meet him back at the house?”  Unknowing of the knots in her stomach, Fred was just one church level away, nervously smiling, fixing his tuxedo cuffs and, before heading upstairs to meet the amazing woman he adores so much, asking me if everything was good.  Yeah Fred.  It’s all good.

Fred and Paige, congratulations over and over in abundance on becoming husband and wife.  I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon and continue to live your lives together (with that fabulous pup of yours) knowing it can always be as calm, graceful and chill as your wedding day.  I want to give a shout out to my new friend Mr. Kellerman; thanks for feeding me before the wedding…you were a great lunch partner!  Oh, and Paige?  You didn’t see this, but I was totally crying behind the camera.  J  Told ya I was a sap!

A special thanks goes out to my amazing future sister-in-law, Kristen, of Kristen Murphy Photography.  Without her assistance and amazing picture-taking, this day wouldn’t have been possible for me to conquer.  I can’t wait to show you what amazing things she captured as well!!  If you’re in the McLouth/Tonganoxie/Lawrence area…get in touch with this chickie!!

The beautiful Paige getting ready.

Kristen’s shot of Fred getting ready.

Work it, lady!!

Kristen capturing the oh-so-casual Fred.  Did I mention he could pass as a JCrew model??

Fred and Paige elected to not see each other before the wedding.  So we got a little fancy with the wall as a divide.  Here’s my view.

And this is Kristen’s view.

Ladies, isn’t this the look we hope to see at the end of the aisle?!

She didn’t take her eyes off him the entire ceremony. *sigh*

Kristen’s amazing shot of the blessing of the Virgin Mary.

A little fist pump action from the newly husband.

I love perfect lighting.

My view of the couple’s first dance.  This is the kind of love we expect to see on such blessed days as these!!

And Kristen’s rockin’ photo…really?  Really…she’s that fabulous!!

I would’ve put a full-length shot in here…but I couldn’t pass this one up.  THIS is love…

A few reception photos to tickle your fancy:

And because no post is complete without seeing all the intricate details that went into their big day, here is a compilation of what we enjoyed seeing…and eating!

Oh, I’m sorry.  Did you say you were interested in ring shots??  🙂

Paige and Fred, thank you again for giving me a start into the photography world and sharing your special day with me.  You believed in me, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
