Have I mentioned how much I absolutely adore being a part of Operation: Love Reunited? The families I meet are incredible – the children, adorable – the spouses, grateful – the soldiers, humble. It’s a trifecta of awesomeness!
The K Family was no exception – I had so much in common with Mrs. K that we spent a majority of our time having for real laughs – the kind that gave me pictures like you’ll see below.

Remember how I mentioned there were some absolutely heavenly images of Briley and her naked bum ala the Coppertone baby left to still be posted? Well…today is your lucky Monday!
The best, right? Myself and her parents think so!
love (dimples on baby bottoms),
When I walked into their house, I was shocked over the change taken with Briley. In three months, her chunky cheeks had thinned slightly and her body was long and lean. She was crawling around like a maniac and speaking in baby tongues. Holy smokes…she’d grown up.
I have said it before and I’ll say it again – get pictures. The first year package is such a blessing to families because it documents this drastic transition of their baby. Krysti and Trevor knew these moments would be fleeting…so they signed up for a year of photographic extravaganza’s. Here we are, three months from the end of our one year journey with Briley. Not only am I honored to be their Photographer of choice, but I’m PROUD that they recognized the importance of having these images taken.
I will preface these aren’t all of the pictures. There are some absolutely heavenly images taken of Briley and her naked bum ala the Coppertone baby…they may have to wait for another time, though.
These next two are my favorite series…I can’t wait to see these two go side by side on a wall in Krysti and Trevor’s home…
These next two family shots have me all sorts of in awe of their love…
Happy Monday all!
love (first year packages),
Not really. Twinkies, I mean. At least, not in the sense of a cream-filled puff of heaven. These delectable twinkies are in the shape of one boy, one girl, smothered in smushed up crackers and stinkin’ bottoms.
Paige and Fred hired me to shoot their wedding in July 2009…it was my first. EVER. Quite literally, they were the first couple to believe in me enough to give me a chance. So when Paige was one of the winners of my Winter Giveaway, I was stoked. Since 2009, Paige and Fred have given way to twins. On their first attempt at having children. I would be frazzled at the idea of having one child my first time around…but two?! Clearly, they’re professionals.
Paige wanted a “day in the life” kind of session…nothing too organized…just her babies being babies. So it’s what we did, along with consuming approximately 24 cups of coffee between the two of us, and had much joy to show for our get together.
Maeve has taken to riding on the back of Fred’s baby walk-around thingamajig…
Sweet Maeve toes make me happy…
Mommy with her babes…
FYI – that phone pictured above? They scrapple over it. A lot. Apparently cell phones are in high demand, even for tots.
love (twinkies—okay now i’m talking about the snack cake),
I don’t have much time today to write, but I wanted to share with you a fantastic portrait session I’m currently working on. These two soon-to-be grads and I had a fun-filled rainy-day kind of session, and I can’t wait to showcase their beauty!
Have a happy Monday everyone!!
love (my newfound black and white),
When I was her age, I stood in the middle of the Easter egg grasslands, tears streaming down my face, sobbing like a pansy. Grace…not so much. I was almost concerned for the children around her – she gets down with Easter egg hunting like woah.
The simple tender touches of grandparents with their grandbabies makes me swoon…
…and then we colored eggs…
This is the response my brother gets when he is handing out rules…
…and oh the excitement of eggs changing color!
So then I represented the big purple!! Love my Wildcats!!
…then Grace got bored…so she found something else to do…
…then I got put in time out because I didn’t stop her and treated this disaster as a photographic opportunity. That ten minutes was well worth the photos captured!
love (my niece…like woah),
It’s been about 10 months since my last maternity session and I gotta tell ya – it had been waaay too long!! Naturally I am a lover of the goddesses who are mommies-to-be. Stunning women as they already are, they are the ultimate backpackers, carrying with them the most essential of all things – life. And it’s so so so breathtaking.
Jennifer was no exception to this statement. In fact, I think we went beyond the statement and kicked some serious maternity session behind. Thanks Jenn for being willing to step into the cold drizzle of March in Kansas and work the camera. You were an amazing model and I cannot.WAIT until your little man is here and we can get back together to capture more life memories!!
View Jennifer’s entire maternity session here.
The next one is one of my favorites. Check out that proud Daddy! Props to Leo for being so patient and willing to hang out with us in the drizzle!
Okay don’t laugh…okay you’ll laugh…but I LOVE this one because the tone and placement mimicks Bella in the big trees with Edward. Doesn’t it?! I mean Jenn totally makes it look 1000x better but doesn’t it kinda remind you of that??
